Amazon Flex Takes Severe Weather Reminders To Next Level, Not Just For Winter Storm

A winter storm is coming in the Western Hemisphere, and your favorite delivery apps are never leaving you behind, further making it great to provide the best safety for you.

If DoorDash released official reminders on how you can stay safe amidst this winter storm, Amazon Flex is taking things further by providing ways on how to keep safe in every severe weather that you encounter.

“At Amazon Flex, your safety is our priority. We understand that delivering in severe weather conditions requires extra care, which is why we have implemented several measures to help keep you safe on the road,” Amazon Flex told Ridesharing Forum.

The first is weather monitoring. Amazon Flex said they have a dedicated weather team that tracks forecasts and delivery-area conditions, adding they are going to send you real-time weather updates via the official Amazon Flex application to inform you right away if severe weather is coming, “and has the potential to impact your delivery block.”

“These updates include information about station closures and recommendations based on the specific conditions in your area, such as reducing speed during rainy conditions, taking breaks to warm up in cold conditions, or staying hydrated during hot weather,” the Amazon Flex management stated.

The second is adjusting your delivery routes. When there a forecast of severe weather in your area, such as the winter storm, Amazon Flex reserves the privilege and the opportunity to reduce the number of stops or total distance traveled in your block. This way, you got more time to take the necessary precautions.

‘We will let you know in advance when we adjust your block, and you will still be paid the full amount for your block. Once weather conditions improve, blocks return to normal,” Amazon told Ridesharing Forum.

The third and last, the Amazon Flex Store proudly offers a curated catalog of optional safety products, including rain ponchos, touch-screen gloves, ice scrapers, and more tools, available for you to invest upon “to help you delivery smarter, safer, and with confidence.”

Amazon-branded safety vests will also be provided for free, equipped with reflective technologies “so you stay visible to other vehicles, customers, and community members while at the delivery station and on the road.”

A severe winter storm is coming, and it’s best to stay informed. According to The Weather Channel, this storm that mimics what you read in literature and see in fictional movies is spreading destructive ice and heavy snow across 34 states currently, including the South, Midwest, and Northeast.

More amount of snow has reportedly fallen in these states:
