Amazon Flex Don’t Want Bots - The App Is Eliminating Them For Fairer Earning Opportunities For You

Bots, or those autonomous programs over the Internet, mostly, that could interact with systems or users, think of ChatGPT, won’t have their place around the Amazon Flex interface.

Well, these AI systems have recently taken away the jobs of human workers, since why would you even hire a travel planner when ChatGPT could generate a complete itinerary and complete tours for you?

However, Amazon Flex begs to disagree, and the app is on a mission to eliminate these bots, so you could get fairer earnings. Good decision.

In one of its recent news releases, Amazon Flex has outlined their action plans so these bots could never get the chance to interfere with those driving for the app.

“We have heard from delivery partners that their experience with Amazon Flex has improved as a result of our bot elimination efforts. These efforts include creating a dedicated bot-prevention team that works to ensure fair access to delivery blocks and earnings opportunities,” Amazon Flex wrote.

There are two primary steps outlined in order to make this happen: eliminating the misuse of the official Flex app, and enhancing location verification for instant offers. Let’s take a closer look.

To eliminate the misuse of the Amazon Flex app, the company is implementing technology to prevent this on the app, which result in excessive scheduling and cancellation. Through these, blocks are kept available for delivery partners who could then reliable accomplish them.

We understand that plans change and you may need to occasionally cancel a block. However, we identified a small number of delivery partners who use bots to schedule and cancel large numbers of delivery blocks weekly. This behavior allows them to selectively secure preferred blocks, limiting opportunities for other delivery partners,” Amazon pointed out.

Second, the company is also seeking to improve location verification, so that drivers could get better access to instant offers.

Instant offers are fantastic opportunities for drivers to earn more quickly. However, to get these instant offers, they must be located within three to 15 minutes of a participating delivery pick-up location, not at the site per se.

The action here is clear. Amazon is investing in new technologies, so these drivers who might tend to misrepresent their location when looking for instant offers get restricted from access the official app.
“This means more instant offer opportunities for those delivery partners who are nearby and can complete the block,” Amazon added. Smart move, indeed.

Amazon Flex and these actions are empowering drivers to find more delivery blocks, and earn according to a schedule that suits them best.

“We hope you notice the positive impact of our ongoing steps toward improving your Amazon Flex experience. We will continue to invest in your experience to protect fair access to opportunities for all delivery partners,” the company commits.

Beyond those, Amazon has also announced it is launching new tools and technologies to stay ahead, as well as to combat the devastating efforts of bot providers to grab offers unfairly.
