Grubhub+ is Grubhub’s monthly subscription service for customers who wish to access the best prices and deals for their deliveries and takeout meals. With this subscription, customers get $0 delivery fees, lower service fees, five percent back on pickup orders, discounted priority deliveries, and more. There’s also a loyalty program for just $9.99 per month or for free when they are members of Amazon Prime.
In May 2024, Grubhub partnered with Amazon to introduce a free membership on Grubhub+ for Prime members. This time, they are celebrating their first anniversary.
This month celebrates the milestone underscoring the momentum of the partnership that only keeps tuning up, plus the shared commitment to deliver not just a wide range of food options, but also exceptional value and convenience for Prime members in the country.
“This collaboration isn’t just a win for Prime members; it’s also a significant boost for restaurants and delivery partners,” stated Howard Migdal, the CEO of Grubhub. “By connecting restaurants to millions of Amazon customers, we’re driving growth for their businesses and creating even more earning opportunities for couriers.”
This partnership has been going on for so long. Prior to May 2024 when Grubhub+ and Prime members started to get the chance to order directly on the official website of Amazon and the Amazon Shopping app, there was the “Tune In & Take Out” campaign in April 2023 involving Grubhub and Prime Video, a one-year free trial with Grubhub+ from July 2022 to June 2023, and the student trial with Grubhub+ and Prime Students introduced in August 2021.
The ongoing collaboration has proven to be a significant success for members of the two platforms. Amazon Prime members are enjoying the perks they get on Grubhub+, which has spawned and attracted several other people to sign up.
Since the start of the deal, Prime members have reportedly saved over a billion dollars in waived subscription fees and have used Grubhub+ to save over half a billion dollars in lower service fees, $0 delivery fees, promos, and Grubhub+ credits. Plus, their presence in key cities in the United States, such as New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, right?
People also save an average of $300 per year in delivery fees and promotions with Grubhub+.
“We’re proud to see that we’re keeping over a billion dollars in the pockets of Prime members,” said Jamil Ghani of Amazon Prime. “Prime is all about making everyday life easier, more affordable, and more enjoyable with fast, free delivery on tens of millions of items, extensive entertainment with Prime Video, exclusive deals including Prime Day, and so much more. Thanks to partners like Grubhub, we’re able to add even more savings and convenience to Prime membership by having members’ favorite restaurants delivered right to their doorstep.”
