Following Ridesharing Forum’s reveal there will be free Lyft rides exclusively for you this St. Patrick’s Day 2026 in the Washington, District of Columbia area, there are more free rides with the ridesharing app for these festivities, this time in Alexandria in Maryland. Here’s the scoop.
Alexandria, brace yourselves!
Gear up for your St. Patrick’s Day moments this year! Lyft rides will be with you this St. Patrick’s Day as part of the non-profit businesses in the D.C. area to put end to drunk driving once and for all.
The Traffic Safety Marketing site cited how drunk driving is a prevalent issue each time St. Patrick’s Day – the celebration of shamrocks and leprechauns – is held. These are the points they stated:
- Male drivers who are drunk are involved in fatal crashes 26 percent more than female drivers at 25 percent in 2023 during the St. Patrick’s Day holidays three years ago.
- Here’s what’s shocking: those young drivers ages 21 to 34 accounted for the highest percentage, particularly 35 percent, of alcohol-affected and -impaired drivers involved in fatal traffic crashes. Poor kids!
- Of course, nighttime driving during the holidays for St. Patrick’s Day in 2023 was more dangerous than daytime driving, but on a very significant level.
However, there are terms and conditions that apply. Just a total of $15 will be available on Lyft, and it’s just from 4 p.m. this March 17th, Tuesday, through 4 a.m. the next morning, according to the SoberRide division in the Evergreen State.
Furthermore, residents 21 years old and above can get a ride by keying in the promotional code of the program into the official payment tab of Lyft. The code will be posted at 3 p.m. local time on St. Patrick’s Day on the website of SoberRide.
Last details to know. Aside from the restaurant sponsors of this promo, know that SoberRide is also offering perks for Cinco de Mayo, Halloween, and so much more. SoberRide has provided over 101,000 free rides home since 1991. That’s Alexandria.
