The penchant for event stadiums is going on, and tonight, the much-awaited opening of the Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, Michigan is happening! Lyft is part of the action.
Acrisure Amphitheater is officially opening tonight in downtown Grand Rapids, and there are lots of talented guests, such as the renowned Lionel Richie for the first concert, with War and Treaty, and the town’s very own Brian VanderArk.
One of the attractive draws of this theater is that it is a cashless venue that goes for the box-office and concessions. So, it’s not like your ordinary stadiums and arenas, but this is something special.
However, the concerns about parking are real, so if you want to avoid the tiring hunt for a parking spot – unfortunately, this modern venue does not solve this – then go for a Lyft ride.
Ridesharing media have confirmed that the only pick-up and drop-off location for cars under the ridesharing app is the Fulton Street Bridge, which is nice, but you’d need a five-minute walk to the theater.
If you don’t prefer this location, then authorities will allow pick-ups and drop-offs also along Cesar E. Chavez, but you got to be fast.
Knowing these pick-up and drop-off points is important because you cannot simply hail and asked to be dropped off anywhere.
“We have a sell-out… including the Acrisure opening, so it’s really a trial as far as staffing is concerned, but we got the personnel to do it to make sure everybody is safe,” Deputy Chief Mike Maycroft of Grand Rapids Police chatted with Ridesharing Forum. “We would only encourage you to be patient, and plan.”
The police will also be looking at pressure points around the city.
Grand Rapids is among the famous destinations in Michigan, where you can visit places, such as Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids Public Museum, The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, Grand Rapids Art Museum, and Fulton Street Market.
So, tonight is going to be a busy time in downtown Grand Rapids. For instance, at Van Andel Arena, there will be performances from Phil Wickham, Tauren Wells, and Jamie MacDonald. The show is sold-out, so don’t attempt to go if you don’t have a ticket.
There will also be a show, Nate Smith, at GLC LIVE at 20 Monroe. The Plain White T’s will be at the Intersection, and the Lincoln Day Dinner is at DeVos Place, meaning ti say, there will be tens of thousands of people in downtown Grand Rapids, roughly all at the same time, so the police are right, have patience and plan ahead.
Also, at the newly-built Acrisure Amphitheater, the Grand Rapids Symphony Picnic Pops will be there this 250th USA Independence Day, and on the 23rd. You may also order your Uber rides around. For more ridesharing news, keep following Ridesharing Forum!
