Three Maywood, Illinois teenagers, were arrested and charged with the murder of Adaranijo Adekunte a 53-year-old Lyft driver at the time of his death. The murder took place on April 26th and was perpetrated by Trevon Thomas, 19 years old, of the 100 block of 21st Avenue, and Denarvis Mendenhall, 19 years old, of the 1600 block of Washington, and a 16-year-old. The three were charged with first-degree murder. Adekunte was found in his car with a bullet hole in his head at 1:30 am, according to Des Plaines Police.
The arrest of the two adults and the juvenile were performed by Maywood investigators in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals' Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. Trevon and the 16-year-old were apprehended on Nov 15th, and Mendenhall was caught the following day.
