This is why you have a ton of drivers in the bay area that have to drive the cost of living is so ridiculous in the bay area most people who aren’t techies because of techies now have to have 3 or 4 things going just to make ends meet or live with a bunch of roommates
The vast majority of drivers don’t stay. The ones who do have either accepted their plight b/c any money is better than no money, but others have reworked our strategy. It’s still an okay side gig if not your main source of income.
I like to drive, and I like to interact with people … oh, and I am only after about $600/month, so that is not difficult to get. However, there are consistent aspects of driving for Uber that I find annoying and downright insulting, and because I do not work for Uber, I have no qualms about speaking about those aspect…especially when a rider asks me questions like “what is it like to drive for Uber ?” or “How do you like driving for Uber ?” … first I ask, “Do you want the truth or a lie ?” …lol…
