And by law, to advertise that drivers can make X amount of money only one driver needs to make that much.
There are plenty of drivers make 20+
And most importantly, no one is making you drive. If you do not like it, do something else.
Both platforms say they will pay you X amount per mile and Y amount per minute to drive. As long as they do that, they are delivering on their promise.

if you’re referring to the amount of hours, I don’t normally work that much and when I do it’s once a month. I’ve barely driven in the last couple months because I’ve started my own business.
Lyft and Uber are side gigs. No one should be depending on them long term. I used rideshare to transition from union construction to my own business.
No but I get them wholesale.
I have almost 3 years and 6600 rides into rideshare.
I have done one set of brake pads, a battery, and 2 tires in maintenance beside oil changes. My car does 12k miles between oil changes so I’m still doing 4 oil changes a year like most people but I get my oil cheap.

Not quite 60 hours. I turn the app on at my house and wait til I get the first ride. Some times it’s an hour a day.
Realistically that is 55 hours.

That’s 45 an hour. 130k a year. More than double the median income for the country.
Doing a long week like this freed up the rest of my month to work on my business. Now I barely drive at all, 26 rides in all of November. Rideshare gave me the opportunity to take control of my finances and not have to work for anyone ever again.
Really? I thought about doing that, I’m just concerned that the 5 minutes it will take me to leave my apartment and get into my car might lead to cancellations. The Vegas market must be fantastic, except for the strip which is always congested.
I’ve heard of the kickbacks, but haven’t your passengers already chosen a destination? Or do you convince them to change their destination? One more question, when do you get the kickback? As soon as you drop your customer, you get out of the car and collect?

People tend to have a destination in mind when they request. But sometimes they ask about strip clubs and weed stores.
We have people from all over the world come here. They don’t all know that we have legal weed. So if you bring it up, sometimes they ask to go get some.
the strip clubs offer free rides in a limo or bus.
They have to pay those drivers. So they build transportation into their prices and pay us that money if we bring them.
There’s a few other kickbacks out there as well. But it’s always nice to get a few hundred extra bucks a week from just doing your job.

What they don’t know is, every ride is a new opportunity to get a tip and a kickback.
I’ve gotten 200 dollar tips. 50s, 20s, 10s, 5s. All of it adds up quick.
I usually eat and gas up off my cash tips alone.
So when I only did rideshare, I would do one long week, and 3 short weeks.
The long week knocked out my bills. And the short weeks gave me enough for my business venture.
That was the most I ever got.

You need to know when to drive, where to drive, and how to drive to avoid sitting and wasting time.
