Thanks to Postmates, this year’s Cinco de Mayo has never been the same. The online delivery platform has made the celebrations even more fun by giving away free tacos – yes, free tacos – Taco Bell treats, plus sweepstakes. Here’s a look at what happened.
Free supply of tacos for a year
A few days away from Cinco de Mayo 2025, the official Facebook page of Postmates revealed they were giving away a year’s worth of tacos.
“Yup, you read that right… We’re giving away a year’s worth of [tacos],” the page stated. “Me: Ordering tacos for Cinco de Mayo… Also me: Ordering tacos for Cinco de Mayo for a chance to win a year’s worth of tacos.”
A year’s worth of tacos may be too much, as would you even eat tacos all the time? But, if they’re for free, would you even resist?
Customers accessed the official Postmates app, then ordered any item from the Cinco de Mayo Spotlight so they could get the chance to win free tacos.
However, this promo became available only across Los Angeles with terms and conditions.
The Facebook post received very few likes, comments, and views, which is the downside of the Cinco de Mayo promotion. Maybe next year?
Free Taco Bell treats
Also, Taco Bell went very active in celebrating Cinco de Mayo 2025. Customers who placed delivery orders of $20, exclusive of taxes and fees, via Postmates, as well as other platforms like Grubhub, Uber Eats, and DoorDash, could redeem their free order of Nachos Bell Grande from Taco Bell.
Taco Bell describes its Nachos Bell Grande as “a large portion of seasoned nachos topped with extra warm nacho cheese sauce, black beans, seasoned beef, diced tomatoes, and cool sour cream.”
Yum! However, these were only available in participating Taco Bell locations.
Cinco de Mayo sweepstakes
What’s Cinco de Mayo 2025 without some money to win? On that day, Postmates also launched a sweepstakes promo that gave away several prizes to winning participants.
The winner was able to receive a promo code valid for 365 redemptions of $15 off each eligible Postmates order for delivery until that day, and a discount valid for use on chosen merchants on the Postmates app or the official Postmates website.
However, only one winner was chosen, yet no purchase was necessary to qualify for the sweepstakes, which is excellent.
