Its a great idea, I’m just not up for the responsibility. I’d love to take part, but as a single mom of two very active boys, full time nursing student, uber driver, and administrator of a student mentoring program I’ve already got a very full plate. Send me an invite too! We can post in the other groups like this one and invite positive people to join us.
You know, I agree with this. I share a bunch of negative shit, but nearly always feel alone when posting anything positive. This place is a place to vent AND help out. I love the people here, but some of y’all need to stop telling the one star stories and focus on the five star ones.
The best thing about driving Uber…put me into action to really look for another form of income. I am so happy to be in action mode. The reality is I cannot even lie to my pax about Uber… Uber is a great concept for the pax, and a great supplement to other income.
I absolutely agree with what you’re saying and to brighten this up a bit, I’ll tell you guys that I seriously have never had a rider that I would even think about not picking up again. I’ll attribute that to the fact that I live in the south, where life is a little slower and people are a little nicer. (But I may be biased, lol) but I believe you get back what you put in… You want to get in my car with a pissy attitude? I can fix that, and probably have you laughing by the time you get out. It’s all about customer service. Sure, I’m not always fond of the fact that I just picked up four drunk college kids from a strip club, got them home safely, and then didn’t get a tip despite the fact that I was friendly and personable, but the strippers work for tips, not me. I’m still getting paid, whether they tip or not, and at the end of the day, I know I have provided the service I signed up to provide. If I have fare disputes, it’s with uber, not my guests. And that’s honestly how I see them, as guests in my car. Yeah, I’m still new (driving for 7 weeks now) and yeah, there have been people who totally ignored my presence in the car bc they were chatting with their friends or skyping with their sister’s little dog (true story) but my DAY wasn’t ruined bc of it… I got them where they needed to be, and was thankful for the money I made for it. It’s all about perspective to me. If you are expecting a tip, and don’t get one, and let it ruin your outlook, then you are in the wrong business in my opinion.
I’ve met some wonderful people I wouldn’t have normally met if not for their need for a ride. That’s why I drive.
The funny thing is I actually agree that there is a ton of negativity, which the easy cure is…wait for it…stop driving! However, we should all realize that that same negativity is happening in the Rider groups, unfortunately that’s how the world is these days. I myself have had a great time with it so far, granted I only do this on weekends and basically to make my car payment, I just signed up for Uber Delivery so hopefully that will even bring in more $$$
its definitely what you make it. Most of my riders are pretty cool. I’m a talker by nature, but definitely take my cues if they just want a quiet ride. Although some just need to vent, hopefully it won’t continue to stir up anger…just get it off your chest…think about what went wrong and what could have made it a better ride…then let it ride/roll…lol.
Nobody is truly nice to these cheap uber fuck pax’s . Drivers are only nice because they have a sword to their necks with the fucking blackmail rating system, take that away and we will see just how nice we are to them. At least the cabs don’t have to worry about losing their job with every new passenger rating.
